Registrations
It’s vital that players are registered, without this they cannot play.
Registrations have to be done in three components:
1.
Basketball QLD Registration – This is an insurance cover and once paid lasts for 12 months
2.
North Gold Coast Seahawks Competition Fee – This payment goes to the North Gold Coast Seahawks who manage the competition
3.
North Gold Coast Seahawks Game Fees – This payment comes back to Helensvale Hurricanes to pay for game fees and training court hire fees.
Under 8 Mini-ball
The Perfect Introduction to Club Basketball
Our Under 8 Mini-Ball competition caters for our youngest competition hoopers and serves as a perfect introduction to playing organised games.
Games are played under modified conditions. Teams only have four players on the court at any one time, allowing for greater spacing and more opportunity for players to handle the ball. Everyone loves to make a basket, so games are played on lowered 8.5′ hoops. More scoring and better for the development of sound shooting technique. We also allow coaches on the court with the teams to help direct the players.
The Under-8 competition is a term-by-term commitment (e.g. runs for each school term), so there’s a new season starting frequently, perfect to join at any time of the year.
Teams play on Saturday mornings at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre (sometimes Runaway Bay or local schools if CISC has an event) and train once per week for an hour.
Online registration is easy – register online using your computer, phone or tablet (select Hurricanes as your team)
Queensland Government Fair Play vouchers are accepted and, if eligible, can cover some costs of registration. If you have a Fair Play voucher, please register online, but do not pay any GAME FEES at checkout. Email your Fair Play voucher to accounts@helensvalehurricanes.com.au

The main competition for Juniors covers ages U10 – 20’s boys and girls.
No experience – no worries – competitions are graded, so you’re sure to be in a team with players of similar ability against teams of similar ability to ensure good competition and fun for all.
At Hurricanes, we will always endeavour to qualify our best team in A grade to help those wanting to take their game to representative levels at North Gold Coast Seahawks play the highest club level they can achieve.
The junior competition is played across two seasons per year. Season 1 is played in line with school terms 1 & 2, with Season 2 in line with school terms 3 & 4.
Teams play at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Runaway Bay Indoor Sports Centre, or other schools within the local region. Training is weekly, for one hour. Competition days and nights vary depending on age groups.
